Happy birthday to me! I turned 24 years old yesterday. In a nutshell, I celebrated it by dining at a fancy restaurant, Baume, squatting, drinking a lot of wine and tequila, eating tons of sweets, more drinking, doing more squats and HSPU's hungover, my birthday WOD, and getting caked. Good times, for sure.
Baume: On Saturday, we celebrated my birthday at Baume in Palo Alto. Like Manresa, Baume is a two Michelin star restaurant. Molecular gastronomy is fun and I'm a big foodie. In my opinion, it was not as good as Manresa, but still really good. I'm really glad I got to try it. We got the twelve course tasting menu, which by the way is not filling at all. My favorites include: the 62 degree egg (best egg I've ever had and I think the chef's signature dish), the grass-fed beef filet (kind of tasted like a sous vide steak.. I could have eaten at least 5 more of these petite babies), and the chocolate dessert (nice play on all different kinds of chocolate). This is what we ate, in pictures:

Birthday WOD: 24 muscle ups for time. I did this workout with my trainers: Alex, Cheryl, Jason, Pat, Jody, along with other CrossFit badasses like Neal Maddox, Miranda Oldroyd, and Michelle and Jackie. Had I known doing the workout with them would entail doing the entire training session with them, I would not have done the class in the morning! This is what we did:
- Snatch: 1-1-1-1-1
- Overhead Squat: 3-3-3-3-3
- 10 rounds for time: 3 Power Clean 185#/135#, 15 Double Unders
- 24 Muscle Ups for time

I had a great birthday! A big thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, gifts, and for making me feel extra special <3. On top of that, I found out I made the NorCal CrossFit team for Regionals! So excited!
And last but not least: bacon chocolate roses!!! These were too good not to share...
