After stopping by at CrossFit Edina, I decided to visit Tangletown CrossFit, a box opened by one of their members a few years ago. Conveniently it was about two miles from my hotel.
I dropped in for the 5:30am class with the owner, Darcy. Unlike CrossFit Minnesota, this class was mostly women.
- Warm up: 2 rounds: 400m run/row, high knees, butt kickers, inch worm, 20-30 band pull aparts, 10 pushups, mobility
- Skill Work: Muscle Ups, Transitions, Pull Ups, or Ring Dips
- Workout: For time:
- 12 Thrusters 115#/75#
- 400m Run
- 10 Thrusters 115#/75#
- 400m Run
- 8 Thrusters 115#/75#
- 400m Run
- 6 Thrusters 115#/75#
- 400m Run
- 4 Thrusters 115#/75#
Some things I really liked here:
- Rocking, energetic classes. Huge turn out. If you're not up coming in to the gym, you'll be up shortly. Darcy is full of energy and so is the class!
- Tight, friendly community. I met almost everyone in the class. People wait for each other to be done with the workout before cleaning up.
- Variety of equipment: watt bike, fractional plates, ropes, benches, prowlers, tire, etc. They also have lots of accessories like weight belts and grips.
- Super high rings! Probably one of the highest pair of rings I've seen to date in a CrossFit gym! So happy I came in on muscle up day!
- Darcy, the owner still teaches most of the classes! How often do you see that nowadays?
- Seems to be a women-powered gym. All the trainers are women, and so are a lot of the members. Girl power!
- Cold water fountain
- Visitor friendly
Some things that could use improvement:
- More classes. For example, they only have two classes on Friday's.

A cute little box catered to the people who live nearby. Check it out sometime! They're a bunch of very sweet people!
